Mike Abelow Appointed Subchapter 5 Trustee

Sherrard Roe Voigt & Harbison is pleased to announce that member Mike Abelow was appointed a Subchapter 5 Trustee by the United States Trustee’s Office, an arm of the Department of Justice, effective January 2022. Subchapter 5 of Chapter 11 involves companies with debts up to $7.5 million. In this role, Abelow will act as a fiduciary for creditors in lieu of an appointed creditors committee and help facilitate deals between debtors and creditors towards consensual plans of reorganization.
Abelow represents a diverse clientele in complex commercial disputes and bankruptcy proceedings, including breach of contract claims, business torts, loan restructuring, lender liability, and guaranty disputes. Recognized as Best of the Bar for bankruptcy and litigation by the Nashville Business Journal, he is also the immediate past president of the Nashville Bar Association.
