Sherrard Roe Voigt & Harbison member Amy Mohan recently spoke at the Environmental Law and Policy Annual Review (ELPAR) 2022 Symposium. The virtual event, sponsored by the Environmental Law Institute and Vanderbilt University Law School, centered on a discussion to advance environmental justice using a new participatory governance approach, “The Constituent Empowerment Model.”
Mohan joined a panel of experts for the symposium, including Jamie Lee, the University of Baltimore Law School professor who developed the new approach. Mohan addressed the critical role of news media partnerships in participatory governance models and how those partnerships help give a voice to marginalized communities.
As founder and chair of the firm’s crisis management and media relations practice group, Mohan helps businesses and individuals with civil and criminal matters or outside of a litigation context. Before becoming an attorney, she was an Emmy-award-winning journalist. She frequently speaks and writes on crisis management and media relations issues.
