Tom Sherrard is a founding member of Sherrard Roe Voigt & Harbison. His legal practice includes mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, corporate and securities law and commercial law. He serves as general outside counsel for both public and private corporations and advises those clients on a broad range of corporate and securities law issues.

Mr. Sherrard received a bachelor’s degree from Duke University and a J.D. in 1969 from the University of Florida, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as editor-in-chief of the University of Florida Law Review.

  • Served as general counsel to large hotel and entertainment corporation; addressed all corporate governance matters and led teams in acquisitions and dispositions of assets, structured financings and securities regulation compliance
  • Served as outside corporate counsel to publicly-traded publishing corporation in connection with general corporate matters, securities regulation compliance and negotiation and consummation of going-private transaction
  • Served as lead counsel in more than 50 M&A transactions over the past 20 years representing both purchasers and sellers
  • Served as outside corporate counsel to the Nashville Predators
  • Served as corporate counsel to numerous private companies
  • Served as bond counsel and issuer’s counsel on more than $4 billion in taxable industrial revenue bond issues over the past 25 years
